The workplace is where the majority of adult Christians spend the majority of their waking hours, and yet it is often where we feel least equipped as to how to live as a Christian.

Our vision is to equip Christians at HTB to live out their Christian calling at work, and so be released to be a part of the evangelisation of the nations and the transformation of society within their workplaces.

To achieve this goal, we put on various courses and events:

God at Work course

This course is based on Ken Costa’s book ‘God At Work,' and aims to equip Christians to live out their faith with purpose and integrity in the workplace. The course provides a Christian perspective on how to face challenges at work. The sessions covered include Ambition, Decision Making, Stress and Work-Life Balance.  The next course will be run in September 2013, click here to register.

Pastorates

Pastorates are at the heart of life at HTB.  They are mid-sized groups of people (typically numbering 25-35), which meet for food, fellowship, teaching, worship, prayer and fun!  Pastorates are an ideal place in which to grow in every area of our Christian discipleship – including living out our faith in our workplace.

Most pastorates meet on weekday evenings, often in the home of one of the pastorate members.  Some jobs make it difficult to make it along to these though, and we have a number of pastorates designed with this in mind.  There are a group of Sunday pastorates, Pastorate Express (which meets in Church on Thursdays 7:15-8:15am), and two Pastorates which meet in the City (the City Pastorate, and City Express).  Check out the find a pastorate page for more detailed information about all our pastorates.

Faith and work networks

Every type of work has it’s own unique opportunities and challenges, and it can often be helpful to be in contact with other Christians working in the same area.  The Faith and Work networks are designed to meet this need, bringing together people from across a particular sector.  Each group is slightly different, reflecting their specific areas – so it’s difficult to generalize about them. There are prayer meetings, socials, talks, facebook pages and linkedin groups – with most groups organizing some form of meeting every couple of months.  For details of the specific networks, click on the links below:

Faith & Work Prayer

At HTB we believe that God is interested in all aspects of the workplace, and that inspires us to pray.  There are regular Faith and Work prayer breakfasts in the main church at Brompton road.  These will be 7-8am on a Tuesday morning, followed by a networking breakfast.  The dates for 2013:
