Parenting Alone

Those who are parenting alone at HTB meet once a month for Sunday lunch and also for monthly teaching and prayer ministry on Saturday mornings. This is a wonderful opportunity for parents and children to come together to find support, restoration and friends in a loving community.

Who is it for

This group is for parents and children of single parent families. Our aim is to provide community, support and prayer ministry for parents and children. We welcome anyone who is either already coming to the church or who might be interested in finding support and friendship.

What’s happening?

Sunday Lunch - 1:30pm-3:30pm in Church House. Once a month we come together and enjoy a homecooked meal following the 11.30am service at HTB or 11am service at St Paul's Onslow Square.

We ask for a contribution towards Sunday lunch of £3.50 each. However we would love everyone to be able to attend, so please give what you can if this is too much for you. Please also feel free to bring along a drink.

Please RSVP to family.life@htb.org.uk if you would like to come along.

Saturday Prayer Ministry - 10:30am-12:30pm in the Crypts at HTB. A safe environment to come together to share and discuss specific issues surrounding those who are parenting alone. This is followed with a time of teaching and prayer ministry.

We are delighted to provide childcare, but do let us know if you will be bringing your children so that childcare can be arranged in advance. Please contact Family Life 0207 052 0322 family.life@htb.org.uk

Get involved in supporting those parenting alone in our community

Volunteers are desperately needed to help provide food for the Sunday lunches, and generally be involved in hosting the lunches. Please call the Family Life department on 0207 052 0320 if you would like to be involved or find out more.

What people say

'It is so nice to have fantastically cooked Sunday roasts in a relaxed atmosphere, something I seldom now experience as a single male parent. It brings back all those great and fond memories of being family and sharing meals, something I experienced regularly before my separation.’

‘It was so lovely to have somewhere to go for Sunday lunch after the morning service which can be a really lonely time with everyone going off in their family groups’.
