A - Z information
Air conditioning
Unfortunately there is no air conditioning in the chalets or public venues. We strongly recommend guests bring mini, hand-held fans in case of really hot weather. This would be particularly helpful in the Ballroom.
Babysitting
There is a babysitting service for children under 10 years old who are staying on-site. This runs from 7.15 to 10.15pm each night so that parents can attend the evening sessions, and is run on a rota system with each parent asked to babysit one night. Individual instructions will be given to you upon your arrival at Home Focus.
• Parents should meet the babysitters in their chalet or camping area, to give them their key and any specific instructions.
• Messages will be displayed on the screens during the evening sessions if your child needs you.
• If all is quiet, babysitters will not be expected to enter the chalets to check on the children unless specifically asked to do so.
• Parents must return to their chalet or tent by 10.15pm
Badges
For security and identification purposes, please wear your badge and wristband at all times. You will be asked to show them when entering all venues. If you do not have your badge or wristband, you will be asked to return to your accommodation to collect them.
If you lose your badge, please check your accommodation before going to the Home Focus Office to ask for a replacement. There will be a cost of £1 for each replacement badge.
The coding on your badges is as follows:
Green 0 - 10 year olds
Yellow 11 - 13 year olds
Blue 14 - 17 year olds
Orange Adults (18+ years)
Red HTB Staff
Blue star B&B guests
Red star Self Catering guests
Red dot Prayer ministry team
Wristbands
Pontin’s require all guests to wear wristbands in order to help keep the site secure. Admittance to the restaurant and public venues will not be allowed without wristband and badge. Lost wristbands can be replaced at reception. The exceptions to this are the younger and older youth who can only obtain replacement wristbands from their youth leaders.

Beach Access is via a path down to the beach from the south car park or golf course. Pontin’s and HTB accept no responsibility for guests when they leave the site.
Pontin's have advised that due to cliff erosion the cliffs are particularly dangerous. Playing on the sand dunes is hazardous. There are signs and areas are roped off, but please watch out and keep small children away from the area.
Guests are also strongly encouraged to wear shoes when going into the sea, to protect against hidden, sharp objects in the sand.
Please ensure children and youth know that it is not advisable to venture alone into this area, especially at night. Pontin's and HTB do not have guards on duty going down to the beach, and the area is regularly visited by people not staying on site.
Please avoid walking to the beach via the camp sites, especially at night, because it wakes up children and disturbs snoozers!
Bedtime
In order to ensure that babies and small children are not disturbed at night, please remain as quiet as possible around the chalet areas and tents after 7.30pm.
Parents: Please encourage your older children/youth to be especially quiet when making their way back to their chalets after their evening sessions.
Please note that recommended chalet times for children and youth are as follows (unless extended for organised youth activities):
6 and under 7.30pm
7 - 10s 9pm
Younger Youth 11.15pm
Older Youth 11.45pm
Bicycles
Bicycles are welcome on site, but please do not leave them in front of entrances or on the road blocking traffic. There is a bike park on the grass across from the Queen Vic Bar decking, and cyclists are encouraged to park there.
Please attach a label to your bike with your name and chalet number. This will help staff find the owners of any lost or misplaced bikes. Parents, we especially need your help with your children’s bikes.
Bicycling is not allowed on the paths by the doors of the chalets. Please remember to bring a bicycle lock. Bicycles are available to hire from the Hire Time shop.
Please can parents remind their children to avoid borrowing other children’s bicycles without their permission.
Bus service (local)
Buses to Lowestoft stop outside the centre gates approximately every 10 - 15 minutes.
Car parking
Upon your arrival you will be issued with a windscreen sticker for your car. For security purposes please display this inside your windscreen for the duration of the week.
There are three main car parks on the site and you will be directed to the car park situated nearest to your chalet so please follow the instructions from the welcoming team (see Upon Your Arrival, page 9). A car park attendant will also be on duty on the day of arrival. If you are staying on site please use only these car parks. Car parking on the playing field is for B&B guests only, as this area has limited space.
Please note that parking will NOT be available directly in front of the Reception area.
You are requested to observe all the traffic signs. Please drive with extreme care and do not exceed 5 mph at any time.
Cars and other vehicles are accepted on Pontin's property at owner's risk, and must be parked in the specified car parks only. Please ensure your car is kept locked with valuables kept out of sight. The car parks are near the beach and are accessible to people not staying on site.
Please do not park on the access road alongside the playground, Hero Zone and Pirouette Park chalets. Access is required AT ALL TIMES in case of emergency.
B&B guests may park on the perimeter of the playing field, opposite the security guard's hut at the entrance to the site. Please be advised that in wet conditions this area becomes extremely muddy and may be unsuitable to use.
Disabled car parking
For guests with disabled stickers on their car, there is a designated car parking area next to the Playground.

Lost children
Missing children should be reported to the Home Focus office staff, who will do the following:
Ask parent if they have checked their chalet, their child's friends' chalets, the children's venues, the restaurant, the ballroom, and the beach.
If the answer to all of the above is "yes", then a search committee will be organised by the Home Focus Office. If the child is lost after babysitting begins, babysitters and Pontin’s staff will be called in to help.
If the child advises he is lost or doesn’t know where his parents are, office staff will take the child to his chalet to ensure parents aren't there. If the parents aren't in their chalet, the neighbours will be asked if they know the parents' whereabouts. If parents still aren't found, a message will be displayed in all venues asking the parents to report to the Reception.
