Feedback
Here is some feedback from those who attended Home Focus last year:
I would like to express my sincere thanks for putting on a wonderful Home Focus week! This was our first time going. I had hoped this week would be a time of refreshment and renewal for our family and it sure was. Our kids (ages 15 and 12) came away with their faith strengthened and excitement renewed for God. What more can a parent ask for? The same happened for Jeff and I. We found the program to be fantastic! What amazing, gifted speakers you had for us. The worship was powerful as well. Please pass on our thanks to the musicians/singers who gave their all.
It was my first Focus, I actually signed up when I didn't really know anyone in the church earlier this year, and thought I would take a leap of faith and just do it. I am very glad to say that I really enjoyed the whole thing, my fears about it being too much too soon for me were completely unfounded (I am not a new Christian but until this year and joining HTB only attended church once a month on average and went to traditional services in small local churches in South London). Focus really helped me feel even more part of the church community (I have just finished Alpha and have been volunteering for a few months), and it was fantastic how social it was, and how welcoming everybody was. I met lots of new people which is always good but has really given me a sense of being included and welcomed into one big happy family, which is not something I have experienced before outside of my own small family when growing up.
Thank you so much for everything you did to make Home Focus such a blessed and happy holiday. Everything went perfectly from the admin to the evening talks.
Thank you and everyone at HTB. We are a family of four (10 and 17 year-old daughters) on our first Home Focus and found it a joyous event for all. The theme of Your Kingdom Come concentrated our thoughts and prayers - and the seminar of Graham Tomlin and Mike Lloyd provided an extraordinary foundation. We had wonderful neighbours in our chalet village, and by the end of the week we were all sharing our meals, a wonderful experience for us and also a wonderful example of Christian community for our daughters. No one had to lock a bicycle! When we went to breakfast, our ten-year old would take off like a shot - it was easy to lose sight of children in the restaurant yet one didn't worry. For the first time I understood how Mary and Joseph could lose track of the young Jesus on the journey home from Jerusalem. Home Focus gave us freedom from the need for constant vigilance that is the condition of modern childhood. Our minds could rest from surveying the world and think instead about the Kingdom of God.
Please let us know your thoughts about your experience at HTB's holiday-by-the-sea!
