Brother Andrew
Brother Andrew began taking Bibles to Christians behind the Iron Curtain in 1955, travelling thousands of miles in his infamous Volkswagen Beetle. This was the origin of Open Doors, now active in around 45 countries: supplying Bibles, leadership training and practical support for Christians suffering for their faith. For more information, visit www.opendoorsuk.org
Brother Andrew is the author and co-author of numerous books, including God's Smuggler, which has sold over 10 million copies. Since 1978 he has been working tirelessly among Christians in Islamic countries, bringing practical resources and spiritual encouragement to ‘secret believers’—those who are forced to hide their faith for fear of serious and life-threatening persecution every day.
His latest book, Secret Believers, tells their stories to the world. Brother Andrew believes passionately that the rapid spread of Islam could be, by far, the greatest challenge that he and the Church have yet faced in many countries around the world—a challenge to respond to Islam, not with fear, but with forgiveness, radical love and unyielding prayer.
