Around 1,000 people attended an evening with TV explorer Bear Grylls at Holy Trinity Brompton on Wednesday, September 26 to launch the church's upcoming Alpha courses.

Interviewed by Vicar Nicky Gumbel, the star of Channel Four's "Bear Grylls: Born Survivor" series spoke about his life, his work, his family and his Christian faith.

The evening began with a party for all the guests in the marquee adjoining the church, at which drinks and canapes were served.

The new Alpha courses begin on Wednesday, October 3 at 9.45am and 7pm.
