More than 4,300 people arrived for the start of HTB’s big Focus holiday week at Golden Sands on the Lincolnshire coast today.
HTB congregation members are being joined for the week by friends from more than a dozen former church plants and associated churches, including St Peter’s Brighton, St Paul’s Shadwell and St Luke’s Kentish Town.
Guest speakers at the event include the Bishop of London, Hillsong founders Brian and Bobbie Houston and the Preacher to the Pope, Fr Raniero Cantalamessa.
Worship is led by Tim Hughes and the HTB band. Guest worship leaders include Andy Piercy, who leads the morning family worship, and Martin Smith, former lead singer of Delirious.
This year’s event, which is hosted by HTB Vicar Nicky Gumbel and his wife Pippa, is the 21st (the first took place in 1992) and the biggest ever.
Accommodation for the week includes caravans, camping and “glamping” – a form of glamorous camping.
