Church plant St Luke's opens for business

    Monday, 30 January 2012: 9.47am

HTB Church plant St Luke's Kentish Town held its first Sunday service yesterday morning - and 120 people turned up.

There was a cheerful atmosphere as everyone was welcomed with cups of coffee and doughnuts.

The church plant, which is an initiative of the Bishop of London and the Bishop of Edmonton, is the latest of more than 20 plants from HTB.

HTB curate Jon March and his wife Sus have led a team of around 40 HTB members to reopen the church, which has been closed for 20 years, and bring new life to the area.

Last week he was installed as Vicar of St Luke's by the Bishop of Edmonton in a service attended by local clergy and dignitaries.
