Good Friday Meditation

    Friday, 22 April 2011: 5.34pm

Hundreds of people attended HTB's Good Friday three-hour Music and Meditation service at Holy Trinity Brompton today.

Dr Chris Tilling, tutor in New Testament studies at St Mellitus College, led the series of meditations on the cross.

Music was provided by the choirs of HTB and St Augustine's Queen's Gate under the leadership of HTB Director of Classical Music Mark Underwood.

There was also an eight minute piece for violin and piano, played by virtuoso violinist Shaun Ho with Mark Underwood on piano. The 'Pie Jesu' from Durufle's Requiem was sung by soprano Sandra Ford with Jo Garcia on cello.

A selection of works of art relevant to Good Friday were placed around the church for congregation members to view during the service.
