The Bishop of Edmonton led a launch service for HTB's newest church plant at St Luke's, Kentish Town, last night.
The Rt Rev'd Peter Wheatley inducted former HTB curate Jon March as Vicar of the church, which has been closed for 20 years, in front of a congregation of around 150 new congregation members, local clergy, dignitaries, and friends.
Describing it as an 'exciting occasion' and 'an historic moment', the bishop paid tribute to the work of HTB in pioneering the plant, saying that without HTB the church would not be re-opening.
Jon March and his wife Sus are leading a team of around 40 HTB members and friends to start the new work in the large building, which has lain all-but derelict for 20 years.
Regular Sunday services will start next Sunday.
