London team to head to Liverpool

    Tuesday, 10 April 2012: 12.29pm

A Curate from St Paul’s Shadwell, a plant of HTB, is leading a team to Liverpool to help re-energize a local Church.

Jude Padfield, a student at St Mellitus College, and his wife Hannah will be taking a group from London in the summer as part of the ‘Church Graft’ project initiated by the Bishop of Liverpool.

St James’ Church had been shut for 40 years before a local team in Liverpool led by Revd Neil Short re-opened it three years ago. St Paul’s has been advising on the project from an early stage.

Some members of the graft have already moved up to Liverpool including Noel Isherwood an architect who will assist with a redevelopment project around the Church and local area.  Noel and his family are now living a short walk from St James'.

The graft allows members of the extended HTB congregation an opportunity to stay connected with a similar Church environment if they are moving to the North-West.

Equally, there's an open invitation for anyone across the HTB network to get involved and join the team moving to Liverpool.
