Thousands take part in Vision Sunday

    Sunday, 11 September 2011: 5.37pm

Thousands of HTB members took part in Vision Sunday at all the church's 10 services yesterday.

Vicar Nicky Gumbel preached on "Moses - The Reluctant Leader" and encouraged everyone to look for ways to serve the church community in some capacity.

A large marquee on the Brompton Road site was decked out with stalls manned by HTB members giving information about volunteering with social transformation (including the drop-in and the night shelter), the cafe, pastorates, Alpha courses, children and youth work, office work, students, family life courses and many other activities.

There were equivalent stalls at the Onslow Square and Queen's Gate sites.

Nicky pointed out in his talk that anyone who serves in any capacity should consider themselves a leader in the church.

There was also an opportunity to give at all services, with a hamper at the front of the church. There will be a further opportunity to give at next Sunday's services.
