Three Churches...One City...United for Pentecost

    Monday, 24 May 2010: 12.30pm

The HMV Hammersmith Apollo was packed with 5000 worshippers to celebrate Pentecost on Friday 21st May.

Holy Trinity Brompton, Jesus House and Hillsong came together to celebrate the birth of the church and the coming of the Holy Spirit in Acts 2:1-13. The three churches hosted the evening that was open for the whole church.

Worship was led by Tim Hughes, Reuben Morgan (Hillsong) and Pete Wilson (Hillsong) and the Jesus House Choir.

The theme of the evening was unity, and Nicky Gumbel was tearful as he told the crowd that what was happening was the fulfilment of a vision and much prayer.

Towards the end of the evening the crowds of worshippers were asked to find someone from another church and pray for them. The evening ended with a tangible sense that the Holy Spirit was present, and moving amongst His people.

The vision for 2011 is to celebrate Pentecost in the O2 Arena which holds 20,000 people.
