Alpha leaders from all over the world were interviewed at HTB's services today (Sunday) at the beginning of Alpha International Week.
They spoke of how Alpha is growing all over the world. The director of Alpha in India told how there are now 13,000 churches in India running Alpha and more than half a million people have attended the course.
A representative from Rwanda said Alpha is now running in all the country's fourteen prisons. A representative from Kenya told how all prisoners who had done Alpha in Nairobi had recently been freed in a presidential amnesty.
More than 100 archbishops and bishops are attending the Bishops' Stream hosted by the Bishop of London during the week. Around 20 of them attending the 11.30am service at HTB Brompton Road were invited on to the stage by Nicky Gumbel (see picture above).
Among visitors to the week is Archbishop Jose Octavio Ruiz Arenas, Secretary of the Pontifical Council for Promoting the New Evangelisation.
