HF 2007: Students - Coffee, Pastries, Worship, BBQs, Theology & Gardening

Nearly 100 students enjoyed a packed programme at this year's Home Focus. Morning seminars began 45 minutes earlier than in previous years to give more time for worship, talks, ministry and the legendary fresh pastries and proper coffee.

Curate Jamie Haith led the week, ably assisted by a team including volunteers and students who study in London and are part of HTB students during the rest of the year.

Worship was led by Luke Hellebronth and speakers during the week included Pete Greig, Sandy Millar, and Amy & Frog Orr-Ewing.

On the Thursday morning, there was a group interview session with Mike Pilavachi, Jane Williams and the Bishop of London on a wide range of issues.

Despite the occasionally tempestuous weather the students took pride in having their very own barbeque for lunch every day of the week.

On the Wednesday afternoon all the students travelled up to Gunton Baptist Church, Lowestoft and the estate surrounding to do several gardening and painting projects organised by the Besom.

Everyone had a fantastic week, with some making a commitment to Christ for the first time and there was a greater sense of unity between the students (many of whom are at different universities all around the country for the rest of the year) than ever before.
