HTB members climb Three Peaks in 24hrs

More than 30 HTB members got together to climb Britain’s three highest peaks within 24 hours to raise money for Alpha for Forces last month.

Five teams took part in the 'Three Peaks Challenge' over the August Bank Holiday weekend, driving in mini buses from peak to peak.

First came Ben Nevis (1,344m) in Scotland, followed by Scafell Pike (978m) in the Lake District with the finish at Mount Snowdon (1,085m) in Wales.

More than £5,000 was raised to help train Army chaplains in Peru and Sierra Leone to run Alpha courses as well as resourcing Forces courses run in Iraq by Canon Andrew White.

Seventeen people managed to complete the course. Winners were the HTB Students team, who finished with a time of 23 hours and 2 minutes with the Alpha for Forces team following up in second place.
