HTB Vicar Nicky Gumbel spoke from the same platform as Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Lynne Hybels at a conference aimed at tackling global poverty earlier this month.

The event, which was hosted by Tear Fund, was held at Jesus House for All Nations, the church led by Pastor Agu Irukwu in Brent Cross, north London. More than 500 people attended the afternoon event.

Archbishop Tutu, the former Archbishop of Cape Town, South Africa, spoke briefly with Nicky Gumbel. The Archbishop is a supporter of the Alpha course saying, ‘Alpha opens the door... for the sharing, caring, praying community which is exemplary of the church in action.’
