On Thursday June 14th, Revd Dr James Stevens, from Trinity College, Bristol gave St Paul's Theological Centre's Annual Lecture at HTB.

The event was put on in association with Worship Central to help deepen the theological understanding of worship, particularly in the context of a church service.

Dr Stevens, an expert in the theology of worship, spoke on the topic, 'The Emotional Power of Music: Have we anything to fear?' and explored the question of whether worship is just emotional hype or truely connecting with God, and how you tell the difference.

The talk was followed by an entertaining discussion and Q&A session with a panel including Dr Stevens, SPTC's Mike Lloyd and Jane Williams and HTB worship leaders, Tim Hughes and Al Gordon.
