Monthly Prayer Briefings
(please see end for detailed briefings)
March 2010 - HIV/AIDS
33.4 million people live with HIV/AIDS worldwide. The number of people diagnosed with HIV has been rising since the beginning of the 21st century. We believe that God’s heart breaks for the 27 million people who have died to date, Jesus did not come to condemn them but to save them. Will you stand in the gap?

February 2010 - Environment
This month we invite you to focus your prayers on caring for God’s earth. In Western Europe our lifestyles consume 16x as much of the earth’s resources as those of people in the poorest nations, and produce 95x as much CO2 pollution. What can you do to change this?

January 2010 - Iraq
This month we invite you to focus your prayers on finding lasting peace in Iraq and the Middle East. The motherland of the gospel, nowhere could be more important as a prayer focus for world peace at the start of this new decade, especially with imminent elections in Iraq. In the words of Canon Andrew White, vicar of St. George’s, Baghdad: “Paradise it once was, and paradise I believe it will be again, one day”.

December 2009 - Families
This Christmas thousands of children will cry themselves to sleep, victims of broken marriages, abuse and poverty. Families are under fire, but especially at Christmas. That’s why in December we are focusing our prayers on family life in Britain. Please join us in praying for those who are hurting at this time of year; it could be the greatest gift you give this Christmas.

November 2009 - Human Slavery
Tragically, human slavery did not end with William Wilberforce. God still suffers as his children are raped, beaten, overworked for long hours, forced to service up to 40 clients a day sexually in brothels, and even on occasion have their organs harvested for sale. God has seen the suffering caused by this exploitation and asks the question “Whom can I send?”. This is a spiritual battle that demands prayer.
