The Marriage Course & The Marriage Preparation Course

Each term we run two courses designed to encourage and strengthen marriage. We want to show those attending The Marriage Course and The Marriage Preparation Course that their marriages matter. To help do this we set the church out with flowers and candles on each table, provide the guests with dinner and serve them coffee and cake. Our volunteers are such an important part of each event as they ensure these things are done in a friendly way and with care and attention to detail. We are so grateful for their help and we could not run our courses without them.

The Marriage Preparation Course runs for five Thursday evenings and The Marriage Course runs for eight Monday evenings during term time. We would greatly appreciate your help on either course for all or some of the sessions.

For both courses, if you are able to help set up during the day, we begin in the church at 2.00 pm. The set up normally takes two hours with a small team of people and involves laying small coffee tables with tablecloths, table napkins and candles.

To help in the evening, we ask that the taskforce arrives at approx 6.00 pm. The team enjoy a combination of serving dinner, preparing and serving tea/coffee, sharing a meal and clearing up.

The Bereavement Course, The Parenting Course, The Parenting Teenagers Course & The Divorce and Separation Recovery Course

Although these courses are a lot smaller than The Marriage and Marriage Preparation Courses, they are also helping people in important ways to deal with their various life situations.

These courses run on either a Monday or Thursday night and require small, but dedicated taskforce teams to help the evenings get off to a good start. We only require help in the evenings from about 6:30 pm and often you would be able to leave by 8:00 pm (depending on the course). The duties done include serving dinner and clearing up afterwards.
