Can you offer any help or advice with legal matters?

What are we looking for?

We’re looking to build a database of contacts who work in the law or law related fields who can offer help and support to our in house Legal Coordinator.

What areas of law?

Primarily we’re looking for experience and expertise in:

• Publishing law;
• IP – Trade Marks and Copyright, particularly if you have any experience with digital licensing and online rights;
• Commercial contracts

What levels of commitment are we looking for?

We’re looking for people who can potentially act as pro bono consultants, answering questions related to their various areas of expertise or who can review new boilerplate licence agreements and contracts.

Calling all Graphic Designers / Illustrators / Artworkers

• Skilled in Quark, Indesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
• Good Conceptual or artworking skills would be great
• Experience of document layout would be preferable
  

Translation

Translation…translating a wide range of Alpha resources from English into one of over 70 languages worldwide – from Arabic or Afrikaans to Ukrainian or Zulu!

Focus Groups…committing to be part of one of our reader groups or “Focus Groups” to read through and check translations in different languages. Giving feedback on tone, register, language, “Alpha DNA”.

Particular language needs:

• French
• Russian
• Estonian
• Arabic
• Chinese
• Regional African languages
• (eg. Kiswahili, Xosa, Lozi, Zulu, Shona, Sesotho)
• Regional Indian languages

This will require fluent language skills and excellent knowledge of Alpha and is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Alpha ministry worldwide.

Editorial

• Proof reading…making minor house style amends to the complete range of Alpha publications.
• Templates…creating templates for typesetting briefs and prelims pages.
• Managing permissions…writing permissions request letters, collating existing permissions.
• DVDs…proofing DVDs.
• Copy…checking that each folder of the Product Bible contains up to date copy and product information.
