Older Youth

School years 10-13 (those aged 14-17 as at 1 Sept)

Matt Costley, Andy Watkins and India Aldridge head up Older Youth with a fantastic team.   Leaders from all over the world (the team includes leaders from Germany, Australia and South Africa), ranging from students to high-flying investment bankers, congregate every weekend to lead the Youth program.

Fridays:

The Older Youth meet every week during term time for some awesome activites. Fridays alternate between `Breathe In' nights or 'Breathe Out' nights with most evenings involving worship, great talks, & small group discussions.

Sundays:

The 5pm service at HTB is aimed at Older Youth and Students, and the Older Youth are encouraged to come along each week and get involved in hosting the service and running the café. 

Events:

Throughout the year the Older Youth are involved in various events, often joining with HTB's Younger Youth or other Youth groups. Recent events include the ONE Weekend away where the entirety of HTB's Youth joined to spend a weekend at the Pioneer Centre in Shropshire! Other highlights include HTB's Focus, when the whole church go away together for a week in July.

In August, HTB Youth take a group of around 60 Older Youth to Soul Survivor, a huge Christian youth festival in Somerset. Each of the three weeks was attended by almost 10 000 youth, nearly all of whom camped! The week includes talks from some world renowned speakers, worship and intense cricket matches against Soul Survivor Watford (in the years when there is less than 50cm of rainfall!), and is a highlight on the Older Youth calendar.

Plans are underway already for next year's ONE weekend for both Older and Younger Youth - March 18 - 20th 2011 - more details later this year!
